UCLA Disability Studies is proud to announce that Dancing Disability Lab alumna Vanessa Hernández Cruz has been awarded a National Dance Project Production Grant from the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA). With the support of this prestigious grant, Vanessa will develop and tour a new evening-length dance work titled Echoing Memories in a Distant Future, set to premiere in Fall 2027 at CAP (Center for the Art of Performance) UCLA. This work will expand on Vanessa’s innovative performance modality of live-streaming six QTBIPOC Disabled artists on stage which features fellow Dancing Disability Lab alumna Kayla Hamilton as Vanessa’s duet partner.
