Momentum Refresh Accessible Restroom Visits Campus!
In partnership with Dr. Lauren Clarkâs course “Care Work: Disability Justice and Health Care,” enrolled students will host the Momentum Refresh Accessible Restroom, the first mobile resource in the USA providing dignity, full inclusion, and accessibility with quality restrooms in the community.
Founded on the principle that every part of the community should be accessible to every citizen, the Momentum Refresh vehicle provides a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for individuals (and their caregivers) who are unable to use, or would struggle with, standard accessible public restrooms. The Momentum Refresh vehicle offers an alternative to inaccessible spaces that force individuals to limit the time they spend in the community, so they do not need to use the restroom, or in some cases, have caregivers lay them on a public restroom floor to be changed. Instead of the inequitable, undignified, unsafe, and unsanitary options, the Momentum Refresh vehicle unlocks the potential that comes from integrating all individuals into society by providing a restroom and personal care facilities wherever they spend time enjoying and benefiting from entertainment and resource opportunities in their community, regardless of ability or disability.
