Originally from Chengdu, China, Jingqiu is a filmmaker, dancer, choreographer and scholar. Her dance films and documentaries have been screened in a number of film festivals in cities in the US, the UK, Norway, Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria, Mexico, India, mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, and won various awards. She holds a PhD in Culture and Performance from UCLA with a research focus on the aesthetics and politics of screendance in postsocialist China. She will be serving on faculty at Duke University as an Assistant Professor of Practice in Dance starting in July.
